Brookside Lodge
Our luxury holiday accommodation includes a stunning main house with five bedrooms and three bathrooms – one of each being on the ground floor, and a charming separate two-bedroom cottage. Both period buildings exemplify the beauty of the regional Cotswold stone architecture and are situated around a private courtyard, furnished in traditional antique style and presented for guests with bespoke White Company linen and Cotswold Lavender products.
Brookside Lodge was originally an old Hunting Lodge and retains its former Victorian splendour. The entrance hall with log burning stove is a lovely place to take time out in its own right and leads down to a stunning, double-vaulted kitchen dining room complete with 5-oven Aga, wood burning stove, Gaggengau steam oven, dining for 12 and a large TV – a great space for entertaining and family meals.
Brookside Cottage
The cottage is equally bespoke and has a wonderful English country vibe with a separate dining room, lounge and open log fire. Originally part of the old stables, it was converted in the early 19th century and used to store sugar and help re-home children out of London during the second world war. The cottage also enjoys beautiful views of the Cotswold Hills and the picturesque village lane of Laverton.
Brookside Lodge is usually rented with the cottage as together the property is perfect for larger parties and family gatherings. However, we also rent out the cottage separately for smaller groups or those looking for a romantic Cotswold getaway. Whatever your book, we ensure exclusive use so you can relax and enjoy the Cotswolds in perfect privacy.
Garden & Surroundings
The gardens are large and quiet with spots ideal for sundowners as the rear of the house faces south west with gorgeous views across the rolling Cotswold hills. The outdoor heated swimming pool and Cotswold stone BBQ are situated in a traditional walled garden, well stocked with David Austin roses, with plenty of space for al-fresco dining by the pool.
The retro-gym is situated in the yard and retains the beautiful architecture of traditional Victorian stables equipped with a Pelaton, Pilates reformer, kick-boxing ring, yoga mats and air conditioning. Private trainers can be organized upon request.
Brookside Lodge is situated on the Winchcombe Way which you can access from the bottom of the garden so there are some great walks and rambles direct from the property and plenty of open space for dog walks and picnics.
Towards the end of the summer the garden is well stocked with apples, plums, damsons, gages and a beautiful fig tree growing up the wall of the cottage. Food processors and bakings tins are in the pantry. Happy Baking!
